Inquiry Museum continues...

Over the last few weeks, grades one and two have been sharing items from home that show how life from the past is different from the present day. This week we had some more students presenting their Museum items.  Below are some photos showing the students talking about their items. Well done to everyone who has brought something in. Several students have been so passionate they have brought in more than one.

A huge thank-you...

A big thank-you to the parents and grandparents who made a big effort to come and visit our school last Friday for the grandparents' afternoon. The afternoon was full of excitement, watching a lovely video of a 94-year-old great-grandparent, sharing stories, asking questions, and eating lemon cookies. There were some very brave children who got up in front of a big crowd and introduced their grandparents. Everyone in the class behaved with respect and kindness and we were so blessed that all the grandparents shared their stories, knowledge, and pearls of wisdom with us.

Mathematics...Patterns, Patterns, Patterns!

During mathematics, this week we have been investigating patterns. They have been making repeating patterns, growing patterns, and discussing patterns found in the environment. Here are some samples of what they have created.
