BEGINNING OF YEAR SCHOOL MASS

Thank you Monsignor, parents & friends for attending Mass on Monday.

We are very proud of our 2020 leaders who were presented with their badges at Mass on Monday. We look forward to a great year with our Stage 3 leaders.

Shrove Tuesday - Pancake Day

Shrove Tuesday is the last day before Lent, which is a time when people traditionally fast. Families would have a feast on Shrove Tuesday, a time to eat food so it would not be wasted during lent. Pancakes became associated with Shrove Tuesday because they were a dish that could use up perishable food such as eggs, fats and milk.

Mini Vinnies will be selling pancakes during recess on Tuesday 25 February

$1:00 for two pancakes, with funds raised going towards Caritas Australia.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday takes place 46 days before Easter Sunday, and is chiefly observed by Catholics, although many other Christians observe it too.

Ash Wednesday comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The practice includes the wearing of ashes on the head. The ashes symbolize the dust from which God made us. As the ashes are applied to a person's forehead, they speak the words: "Turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel."

Our Ash Wednesday Liturgy will be in St Patrick's Church  on Wednesday 26th February from 11:30am.
