District Cross Country 2022

On Thursday 5th May we took a team of 71 students from grades 4, 5 and 6 to District Cross Country at Dendy Park. The students had been selected based on their strong performances at House Cross Country where they had to come in the top 12 of their respective races.

The students performed admirably, were supportive of each other all day and were guided and encouraged by our Cross Country Captains, Felicity Scarff and Hamish Dunne.

We finished the day in third place out of 8 schools behind Black Rock and Beaumaris North, the exact same result as 2021! The top 10 finishers now advance to test their endurance against the best runners in the Division. Many thanks to Ms. Runciman, Ms. Linklater, Ms. Carnegie and Mrs. Travis for their help on the day.

But special mention must go to Fi Loorham (Sophia Griffith 6A) and Pip Scarff (Felicity, Phoebe Scarff 6A) who have been parental helpers at every single sporting event that the girls have been involved in over the last 3 years! On behalf of the countless students that you have encouraged and supported we really are extremely grateful.

The students who progress to compete at Division and yes there are 2 sets of twins!!: HAMISH DUNNE (2nd), HUGO JEFFRIES (7th), FELICITY SCARFF (1st), PHOEBE SCARFF (2nd), THOMAS HILL (9th), NICHOLAS HILL (5th), HARVEY BETTS (1st), HARRY SHAW (2nd), ALANNAH ROMANIN (8th), TALIA FRANCHINA (7th).

Good Luck!

Mrs. Pain
