Parents' Association News

Dear Parents,

Our Parents’ Association (PA) at St. Cecilia’s consists of a group of dedicated parents who work together for the benefit of the school community.

Our most recent Parents Association (PA) meeting was on Tuesday 14 June. We were able to arrange a combination of both in person and online attendance which has offered us another possibility moving forward. We will continue to offer this option allowing as many parents to attend as possible, either in person or online.

Please click below to see the minutes of this well attended and highly productive meeting.

This week, I would like to bring two roles to your attention.

Pastoral Care Role:

St Cecilia's has a strong sense of community and values helping others in times of need. Pastoral care is a service we provide to support families facing unforeseen difficult circumstances such as a child or parent becoming ill or bereavement within the family. At all times the help provided is done so on a confidential basis.

Please click on this link below to find out more about this important element within our PA.

This year our new Parent’s Association Pastoral Care Coordinator

is Sarah Begley (mum to Fiona in Grade 1)  sarah.begley@hotmail.com

Such assistance cannot be provided without the support of the wider school community and to this end we are requesting families to volunteer for our Pastoral Care Registry. Joining the Pastoral Care Registry is a great way of adding value to our school community and modelling to our children the importance of helping others. The current registry is out of date and we are asking all interested families to complete a new google form below regardless of whether you have done so in the past.

Building and Maintenance Committee:

Secondly, we would like to establish a Building and Maintenance Committee within our PA. The purpose of the sub-committee is to make recommendations and complete minor projects on matters relating to school buildings, grounds, landscaping, gardens and play areas. The sub-committee’s aim is to ensure enhancement and maintenance of the school grounds and facilities to inspire the joy of learning and sense of community.

Ideally, we would be seeking a willing and capable parent to coordinate this role by being the person to liase with the school regarding upcoming projects and then being the contact person for willing and available parents that might be able to assist with certain tasks.

If this sounds like it interests you, please contact myself mmckenna@scgleniris.catholic.edu.audirectly to discuss further or either of our PA Coordinatiors (Andrew Maxwell or Chris Knott).
