The Daughters of the West health and wellbeing program is now open for registration!

Facilitated by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, in partnership with local councils and community health services, the free program is aimed at women aged 18 and over who reside in the west. After transitioning online in a COVID-affected 2020, the Daughters of the West (DOTW) program hopes to return to face-to-face delivery modes when it commences in mid-July.

The program, which will run in local government areas Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton, Wyndham, Ballarat and Maryborough, involves one two-hour session per week for a total of 10 weeks. For those who can’t attend in person, an online Zoom session will also be available. Each session is broken up into an hour of education and an hour of physical activity, with three intensities to choose from – catering for a range of fitness levels.

GOAL Mentoring Program

The GOAL Mentoring program is now open for registrations.

The GOAL Mentoring program is run by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation for young people aged 13 to 15 years old from an African background living in Melbourne’s western suburbs. The GOAL mentoring program focuses on pairing African Australian young people with leaders in the community, including Western Bulldogs AFL and AFLW players.  Over 10 sessions, the workshops aim to provide participants with a foundation in goal setting, what it means to be a leader, building networks with others from their community and some sport to keep the mind and body active.

The program will start in the first week of the term 2 holidays and will be held at VU Whitten Oval in Footscray – a great FREE activity for young people during school holidays
