HANDS ON LEARNING

A wonderful re-engagement program

Recently in Hands on Learning students in one of the groups have been constructing boxes to be used in campus libraries. The boxes will be used to store large books.

During the building process students learnt to work in a construction line, with each student be responsible for completing a section of each box.  All students involved worked collaboratively and respectfully with each other.

We are proud of their efforts and contribution to the wider NBC community. Great work from all involved.

Jemmo and Linda would like to thank all the students that have participated in the Hands on Learning program.  The amazing skills that you have learnt can be seen all around the different campuses of the wider school community and in the personal projects, you have taken home to your families. You have all done an amazing job and Lind and I are so very proud of you. You have helped our school maintenance team in times of need and I know this is very much appreciated.

We have planted out our vegetable garden and learnt how to work individually and as part of a team. Throughout the year we have built planter boxes, several different size picnic tables and assembled our new garden shed to mention but a few of the projects undertaken by students in the program.  Students have screen printed their own HoL shirts, which gives, the feeling of belonging and most of all learnt new skills….

Once again, Linda and I would like to thank all involved over the past year.

Well done everyone
