Principal's News

Dear St Brigid's Families

Thank you!

Thank you are just two little words, but they are immeasurable in the way everybody at St Brigid’s managed our COVID case on Tuesday. For most of us it is the first time it has come close to us, our school and community and I am very aware that it probably frightened and worried some of us. The support the parents gave each other was amazing and I’m sure having someone to debrief with was great. We followed the guidelines to the letter and we were commended by DHS on how quickly we got our information into them.

I have to say a big thank you to Tracey, who with me, managed to contact all families in 1/2R by 8am. From there we were sending out numerous communications to help alleviate any anxiety you may have had.

I feel truly blessed to be leading the staff, students and parents in this wonderful community. My staff remained calm and kept the children working to maintain routine. The children were wonderful in that they just continued working and playing as per  normal.

I heard from  a parent of a 1/2 child who said - I’m sad we are not going on our excursion, but it wouldnt be the same without all the 1/2 ‘s! That is our community at work!

The 1/2 excursion has been rescheduled and we will go to Enchanted Maze on Thursday 25th November.

Tomorrow’s Weather

According to the weather forecast, tomorrow's (Friday) weather is meant to be very bad with torrential rain and wind. Please bring your children to school when it is safe to do so (as we did last time we had the terrible weather).

Colour Run Rescheduled - Friday 3rd December

The Melbourne weather is not cooperating this week and our Crazy Colour Run has been postponed until 3rd December. However, we are still fundraising until next Wednesday 17th November, so please keep sharing your fundraising link!

Please note: If you have already selected a goal prize, you still need to log on to order your prizes.

Covid Restrictions and the Ever Changing Landscape

Covid restrictions are still in place, but as you are aware the restrictions are changing on a regular basis. Please be reassured that we are following the guidelines set down for us by Catholic Education. These may vary to guidelines for outside of school. As restrictions change at school we will let you know.

Rememberance Day

All Classes participated in our Remembrance Day Cermony today.  I wanted to share this great work by Levi  from 5/6C.

FOUNDATION TRANSITION

It was so lovely to see how 2022 Foundation (and parents) today! They are came to ‘school’ with smiles on their faces and went to their classroom without a worry. We look forward to seeing them again next week.
