Human Rights Collective
The global Black Lives Matter movement has resonated with many at CSC. In the wake of some impassioned student responses, our well-being team thought it was important to provide an outlet for anyone at CSC who wanted to discuss the issues in a supportive environment. Thus, the CSC Human Rights Collective was formed, with the first meeting held on June 11th.
Student counsellor and group facilitator Rubie Nhongo said:
"I envision this group to be a safe space for students to express their views in a supported environment. It will be a place where we can support each other, learn from each other and educate each other especially when we have opposing views. As a group, we will work towards changing our community whether that means building awareness, donating to and supporting causes or volunteering."
If you want to advocate for a range of social justice issues and have your voice heard, consider joining the CSC Human Rights Collective in the Library, Thursdays at 11:40am during term time. All welcome.
