SCHOOL LEADERS

This Friday the Student Leadership team will be meeting again in order to begin determining goals for their leadership area. As part of this process, students will be considering how they can involve the rest of the student body in determining areas for improvement throughout the school, through surveys, observations and focus group. The leaders will also be looking at school data, such as the data from the Attitude to School Survey, to assist them in identifying areas for improvement and possible solutions which could be developed into goals to address these areas for improvement. The Student Leadership team have already been sharing a number of great ideas and are very passionate about beginning this work. 

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM 

This year, the Department of Education, in partnership with Meg Languages, Going Global is offering a one year student leadership and action program called the Global Citizenship Student Ambassador Program.  Our Year 6 Teaching Team has been successful in securing two placements, which have been awarded to our two Sustainability Captains: Matilda Ruddick and Lola Crosbie-Paul. Congratulations! 

This is an exciting one-year program where they will work alongside other Student Ambassadors to design a real-life action project, which will have a sustainability focus. They will meet with other schools, via Zoom, along with the support of our Year 6 Facilitator, Sofia Courtney, to learn the skills needed to take action on issues around them, plan responses, build leadership skills and share ideas with others. 

The project will follow this basic structure

Term 1 - Project Introduction 

Term 2 - Project Planning 

Term 3 - Project Planning & Implementation 

Term 4 - Project Reflection and Presentation

We look forward to hearing an update from our Sustainability Captains, as they commence the program.
