Distinctions

Congratulations to all recipients!

Happy Term 3 Dear CSC,

We pride ourselves in acknowledging the work and achievements of our students and our school wide community.

To promote our school values  of Respect, Responsibility, Achievement and Community, we once again would acknowledge and honour the achievements of our cohort, in the form of Merits and more excitedly, distinctions each term. Term 3, 2020 was no exception.

I write this haiku in reference to the 1138 (yes one thousand one hundred and thirty-eight!) distinctions, which is a record for a year at CSC. More excitedly we have had multiple students in each year level with multiple distinction Honours!

As we know, 2021 has had its challenges and testing times in which during Term 3 in Remote Learning, despite all hardships the staff have been on the lookout to encourage and promote positivity and merits of students, resulting in the reward of distinction nominations. This term has seen an incredible Distinction Bonanza which all staff have promoted as many distinctions as they wished for the efforts the students made in online classes, result in outstanding results.

Thus, with great pride and honour I would like to mention the breakdown of distinctions, with the Year 8s in the lead with 243 distinction nominations

  • Year 7: 174 Distinctions
  • Year 8: 243 Distinctions
  • Year 9: 234 Distinctions
  • Year 10: 225 Distinctions
  • Year 11: 133 Distinctions

Likewise I would like to commemorate the students of each year level whom have achieved top honours of 5 distinctions or more:

  • Year 7: Aleyna Cevikalp of 7D (5 Distinctions)
  • Year 8: Lisa Sharma of 8I (9 Distinctions)
  • Year 9: Afaq Khizar and Tayla Ioane of 9C (7 Distinctions each)
  • Year 10: Pat Chomphuphuen of 10A, Omar Hamid of 10C and Dani Butrus of 10I (7 Distinctions each)
  • Year 11: Mackenzie Mediana of 11D and Lya Viloletai Afolau of 11K (5 Distinctions each)
  • Year 12: Emre Altunsnu of 12A (6 Distinctions)

In summary a congratulations and massive commendations to our staff and students in the success of these achievements in Term 3, 2021. I hope to see a greater input in Term 4 and as 2022 rolls in.

Have a safe break!
