Shine the Light Social Justice Day

During the season of Lent we were fundraising for Project Compassion. This year for Project Compassion we used the fundraising boxes to raise money for CARITAS. Each classroom has a large donation box on their prayer table to collect money. The Grade 5 and 6 students had their own mini fundraising boxes this year to encourage them to donate. Due to COVID 19 and remote learning it was difficult to collect all the donations until the end of Term 2. However, once all donations were returned we raised $231.35 as a school!

Well done and thank you to everyone for their donations.

Shine a light on Social Justice

On Friday the 26th of June, the last day of Term 2, the Social Justice leaders (Max, Keith, Giorgia, Gianfranco and Daniel) and Miss Casey organised a Pyjama day for the school. Pyjama Day was a fun way for us to raise money for St Vincent De Paul in Highett. We did lots of activities such as a virtual school liturgy, designing sleeping bags and creating bedrooms. Everyone from Prep to Grade 6, appeared to enjoy themselves. It was great to see everyone getting involved by wearing their fancy pyjamas, with a vast array of onesies on show. We would like to thank all the staff and especially Ms Casey for helping us to organise the day. We raised a total of $272.05. The Highett Conference of SVDP also wanted to express their gratitude and deep appreciation to the school community for our wonderful efforts in organising support for the Winter Appeal, especially during this difficult time.
