End of Term One!
We thank our students and parents for a great first term. Wishing all our 3/4 families a safe and restful Easter holiday break. We are looking forward to seeing our students back refreshed and ready for a new term!
In Reading, students have been introduced to the skill of predicting. Predicting is when students use clues such as the title, illustrations, blurb, author or what they have read so far to make smart guesses about what is coming up next in the text. This skill supports reading comprehension as students will learn to predict, confirm or revise throughout the reading process, encouraging them to become active readers who have expectations of the text. Students remain motivated and focused on their reading. Students are should often make predictions about the text, before, during and after they read.
As the Easter season approaches, students have prepared by learning more about Holy Week. Students participated in clinics where they listened and took part in rich and meaningful discussions about Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
