Inter School Sport

The PDSSA have been discussing since the end of last year the option of running Inter - School sport as a series of single day events for the various sports. For example AFL would held on one Friday as a whole day event and then Soccer would be held on a separate Friday as a whole day event. The idea is that these days would replace the weekly Friday morning Inter - School sport.

The two options of either one off "Gala Days" or weekly Inter - School sport was voted on at the most recent PDSSA meeting. As a result the "Gala Days" were voted in as the preferred format for Term 2 sport. Dates are still being finalised but it looks like each of these days will take place on seperate Fridays in June. The same structure remains in that the winners of each District competition will then proceed onto a Division play off in Term 3.

Cross Country

The Cross Country team, as well as anyone else who is keen to join in, have been training every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8.30. I know it's not always easy to get the kids to school of a morning but please try and get them here as early as possible. Students who arrive after 8.30 are still allowed to join in but can't start participating after the 8.45 bell. With the District Cross Country coming up on Wednesday May 4 this is a wonderful opportunity for the students to get fit and put in a performance that they can truly be proud of.

Swimming

There is currently a lot of work being done around swimming programs both by the school and other organisations as well. MACS are currently seeking feedback from the wider parent community on attitudes towards swimming.
