Principal's Report

Principal's Report
Dear parents,
I wish to thank our school community, staff, parents and students for their contributions to a very successful Term 1. It has been a very productive and busy start to the year, with many challenges faced and overcome.
Girraween PS has a very professional and skilled staff delivering high quality student outcomes.
In Term 2 we welcome to our school community Ms Ruby Tran - Classroom teacher and Mrs Rebecca Candelori - Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction. Both Ms Tran and Mrs Candelori were successful through the Merit Selection process in gaining their permanent appointments at Girraween PS.
This week our teachers have been busy collaborating to plan engaging, differentiated units of work to challenge and extend all students to meet their learning goals in term 2. Should you have any concerns regarding your child's progress, please contact your child's teacher through Seesaw after the holiday break. Towards the end of term 2, Parent - Teacher conferences will be arranged to discuss your child's progress in detail.
As communicated through Seesaw earlier this term, planning is underway for a building upgrade at Girraween PS. This will include brand new permanent teaching and learning spaces, a refurbishment of supported learning spaces, including an upgrade to core facilities -the library, staffroom, hall and admin building. We will keep you updated as we receive more information regarding the timeline for construction. Student learning will not be interrupted through this process and school will continue as normal.
Once again I wish thank our entire school community for your support in term 1.
Have a restful and safe holiday break!
