Principal's Report

Term 4

As we enter the second half of Term 4 we are planning for some events to conclude the current year and others that will set your child up for a successful 2023. All students will be involved in our Orientation Day on Tuesday, 13th December. As far as practicable, the students will move to the classroom they will be in and be taught by the teacher they will be with next year. Families of those students who are either new to the school, or will be changing sections, will be sent specific information regarding this via Compass in coming weeks.

Concord Community Concert

We are excited that the Concord School Community Concert will return in 2022. The majority of our students will have a role on the evening and all students are strongly encouraged to attend. You will receive further information in coming weeks however please see the flyer below for an overview of what promises to be a fantastic event for our school community.

Mobile Phone Policy

The School Council are currently reviewing our Mobile Phone policy.

This is a reminder that in accordance with the DET’s Mobile Phones Policy, issued by the Minister for Education, personal mobile phones must not be used at Concord School during school hours, including lunchtime and recess, unless an exception has been granted. Where a student has been granted an exception, the student must use their mobile phone for the purpose for which the exception was granted, and in a safe, ethical and responsible manner. When emergencies occur, parents or carers should reach their child by calling the school’s office.

Please remember that mobile phones owned by students at Concord School are considered valuable items and are brought to school at the owner’s (student’s or parent/carer’s) risk.  Students are encouraged not to bring a mobile phone to school unless there is a compelling reason to do so.

Principal Award - Kade Mckillop

Kade is an exceptional young man and is well deserving of this award.  He has really stepped up this semester and has shown maturity both in and out of class.

He is always happy, enjoys school activities and tries really hard to do his best at all times.  Kade is currently concentrating on improving his hand-writing skills as well as being able to ride the ups and downs of school life. Kade has a variety of friends and loves a kick of the footy at breaktime.

Kade is an active participant in the SRC for Year 11 and has also worked hard during the Sport & Recreation VET program he is enrolled in. He was a great role model for the Upper Primary students by delivering a physical activity program to them as one of his assessments.

Kade should be very proud of all his achievements this year.

Well Done.
