Enter the 2022 Young People of Bayside Art Exhibition

The 22nd edition of the Young People of Bayside Art Exhibition is back, showcasing your amazing talents online and in the Bayside City Council Foyer again.

 

This year's theme is 'The Community Around Us'. Entries open to young artists aged 10 - 25, with a connection to Bayside (work/live/school/study),  will close on Friday 22 July 2022.

Artwork will be displayed at Bayside City Council Corporate Centre (76 Royal Avenue, Sandringham) between Monday 1  August and Friday 14 October.

Artwork can be collected from Monday 24 October until Friday 28 October during business hours.

This week in Visual Arts all the students have been creating art work in response to the upcoming City of Bayside Exhibition . The theme this year is Belonging in the Community.

Even our Junior students demonstrated their learnings by creating these wonderful versions of the Iconic Brighton Beach Boxes by using a range of mixed media. 

Recently in Visual Arts our Middle and some Senior students had the opportunity to experiment with preparing block printing designs. Initially a design was created, then transferred onto a foam block by using an etching method. Students then dabbled using one colour of paint for printing. Then we created some complexities to the pieces by designing different coloured grids and frame shapes on multi coloured card and then applying several over laying colours of paint.
