OSHClub

What’s been happening at OSHC?

Our theme this term is all about exploring our identity as we learn to successfully negotiate play through a range of creative experiences that foster curiosity and imagination.

Cooking Club

In Cooking Club, all the children loved making (and eating) their own mini pizzas for afternoon tea! Together, we learnt about healthy eating as we discussed the different types of vegetables we enjoy on pizza and why these are good for healthy bodies! Great work everyone!

Busy Bees Crafting Club

The children have had an amazing time in Busy Bees Crafting Club as they’ve explored their curiosity and imagination. Developing their fine motor skills, the children used the Hama beads to make all kinds of beautiful images! The children also loved celebrating our Harry Potter theme week as they made some awesome magic wands. Developing their fine motor skills, the children wrapped wool around their wand (to avoid magical splinters of course!) and decorated with a range of resources. The children had great fun making their wand unique but even more fun casting spells on their peers and even the educators!

Science Club

The children loved exploring the Potter world of witchcraft and wizardry in our amazing potions class! Using her leadership and communication skills, Ella lead the group as they made some amazing babbling beverage science experiments. Together we used our communication and cooperation skills to make a babbling beverage which caused the students to babble uncontrollably. We also made magical water drops which children watched closely in amazement.

What’s on the Menu?

A platter of fresh fruit and vegetables are always served with our menu specials.

Staffing updates: Farewell Laura!

It’s with great sadness that I announce my departure from St James Primary School. Over the past three years, I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside the children, parents, staff and wider school community. The sense of family and connectedness among the school community is something I have greatly appreciated and is what makes St James such a special place to be.  I’d like to sincerely thank the community for their support, care and guidance during my journey here at St James and am excited for the next chapter of my career.

I will be about the program until Thursday the 29th of July. I look forward to seeing you all soon to extend my goodbyes and well wishes!

Goodbye and farewell!

Farewell Laura: Goodbye Party!

We love feedback!

As part of our commitment to ongoing quality improvement within the program, we are seeking feedback from families and communities!

This week we are focusing on Quality Area 2 of the National Quality Standard: Children’s Health and Safety.

What are we working on?

A meaningful approach to healthy eating is promoted within our weekly menus and aligns with relevant governing guidelines (NQS 2.1.3).

Question:

What would you like to see the service include in our menus? (NQS 2.1.3).

In relation to your child’s dietary needs, what’s important to you? (NQS 2.1.3).

We would love your feedback and insight. Please follow the link to provide us with some feedback in this area!

 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Please note, due to current COVID-19 restrictions, parents, families and caregivers must check in with the QR code located at our entrance before entering the building. When you have arrived with your child for pick up or drop off, please ensure you are wearing a mask
