Craigieburn Secondary College transitions 2021

Welcome to Junior School.  Craigieburn Secondary College is a growing College with the resources required to meet a diverse range of individual student needs. Our reputation for providing an outstanding education is the result of innovative learning programs and a staff commitment to excellence and ongoing professional development. At Craigieburn Secondary College we have high expectations for all of our students. It is our firm belief that every student will achieve their personal best, experience success and graduate as a responsible, resilient and resourceful young adult.

We understand that moving from primary to secondary school is a big change. It can be exciting, but can also be challenging or worrying for many students. We have a developed a Transition Program that runs throughout Year 7 to support our new students and make sure their transition to our school is as smooth as possible.

Some of our wonderful students at start up……

Activities and events are held throughout the year to support students to build organisational and study skills, develop strong peer relationships, enhance resilience and mindfulness, and to build a sense of connectedness to the school community.

Peer Support Program

Our peer support program is run with up to four Year 9 Peer Support Leaders to each year 7 class. These leaders support students to learn more about the school and give them strategies and skills to manage life at secondary school. The leaders have attended orientation activities, a Year 7 class at least once per week, and have organised and participated in regular activities.

Year 7 Parent Welcome Evening

This event was an opportunity for parents to find out specific information regarding the start of year 7, for parent to meet teachers, hear about their experiences, meet other Year 7 parents, clarify information and ask questions.  A great evening was had by all.

We warmly welcome our New Year 7 families, and hope to hear from you soon.

Yours sincerely
