Diocesan Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to our 27 students who have qualified to represent St Patrick's at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival at Tamworth on Friday 18th August.  We wish all of you the very best of luck!

All team members are reminded that training will continue at lunch time Tuesday 15th August.

Tennis For Sport

We have been successful in our application to obtain a Sporting Schools Grant for this term and with the funds that we have received all of the students will be participating in tennis clinics that will commence tomorrow, Friday 11th August and will continue every Friday until the last day of Term 3 (Friday 22nd September). All equipment will be provided but students may bring their own tennis racquet if they wish. A big thank you goes out to Mrs Emma Wauch who will be leading these sessions. Who knows, we may have a future Ash Barty or Nic Kyrios here at St Patrick's.

Diocesan Football/Netball and Small Schools Gala Day

Recently I met with all of our Years 3-6 students in regards to St Patrick's entering some teams to compete at the Diocesan Football/Netball and Small Schools Gala Day at Tamworth on Friday 15th September. Due to wet weather as well as the pandemic, this event hasn't been held in a number of years. However, I have been involved with this event for a number of years and they are great days that allow our students to compete against other schools in the diocese in a wide range of sports.

After our discussion, the students indicated that they would like to enter an Open Netball Team (mixed) as well as an Open Football side to compete against the larger schools and the rest of our primary students will represent St Patrick's at the Small Groups Day. We are in the process of training the students in both netball and football before both teams will be selected and announced.

The school has already organised a bus for all students to travel to and from Tamworth and more information, including costing and permission will be sent home via the Compass portal soon.

St Patrick's Primary Sports Handbook

St Patrick's now has an official sports handbook. This book is designed to give all members associated with our school a clearer understanding of when our school conducts our various sporting carnivals, the processes/qualifying times involved for students who want to represent our school at Diocesan sporting events as well as an explanation of the representative sporting pathways your child may want to undertake in their respective sports.
