A Spotlight on Learning

Science Week

What a fun fortnight of learning it has been at ACS! We started with Science Week, with many families logging into the ACS Science Launch Pad.

Science videos and experiment ideas from across the internet were compiled into one easy to access location. Well done to the Challis and Chumenko families for sending in pictures and videos of their adventures with science at home!

From there, we welcomed families from across the school to come in for some science in the classroom. Held over a series of afternoons, it was wonderful to see our school community embrace the opportunity to engage in learning with us at school. After two years of Covid restrictions, we welcome new opportunities to invite families into classrooms.

Book Week

Book Week was kicked off with a bedtime story on Facebook Live, presented by Kathryn and Addi. The video is still up on the Armstrong Creek School Facebook page, so if you missed it on Monday night it’s not too late to log in and enjoy.

Throughout the week, students have been encouraged to read at home and fill out their Book Week Reading Log. These will be collected early next week and will be added to a raffle to win some book prizes. All entries will earn house points, so I look forward to seeing which house accumulates the most reading points.

Book Week, and our fortnight of learning fun, concluded today with a dress up day and parade. Thank you so much to our ACS families for putting so much effort into the incredible costumes! Once again, it was fantastic to be able to have so many members of the school community able to attend and celebrate with us at school. Thank you for your support and we look forward to even more opportunities for fun and whole family participation in learning in Term 4!

We will do a special Facebook post early next week with many more amazing photos!
