Year 11 News

Year 11 students recently completed their mid-year exams and are looking forward to a well-earned study break (also known as school holidays!). The purpose of the mid-year exams for VCE students was to demonstrate proficiency of understanding in unit 1 and to develop confidence and familiarity with the subjects studied. It was also a chance for teachers to give targeted feedback to students in preparation for a successful transition into year 12. Our Year 11 students navigated the exam period with confidence and we are proud of their achievements.

Craigieburn SC students in the workplace:

Students undertaking the VCE Vocational Major participate in work placements every Friday as part of their program at Craigieburn Secondary College. Structured workplace learning provides students with the opportunity to integrate on-the-job experience with secondary study as part of the VCE Vocational Major. Structured workplace learning provides the opportunity for:

• enhanced skill development

• practical application of industry knowledge

• assessment of units of competency

• achievement of some learning outcomes

• enhanced employment opportunities.

Our students undertake their work placements in Building and Construction, Hospitality, Automotive, Retail and a range of other industries specific to their interests. To support students to gain employment in the construction industry, our Year 11 VCE VM students recently completed their Construction Industry Induction Training (White Card).
