Principal's Report

Dear parents, carers and students,

This week we have had the Pathway Graduation, and  Junior Camp to Portsea. There are many tired students and staff.  Feedback from the camp has been very positive with new and exciting experiences.  The Pathway Graduation was a great success and it was lovely to see some many families in attendance.  The student's presentations  were inspirational, encouraging and thankful.

We have started our transition, with students from within the school and students new to the school spending time familiarising themselves with the changes.  Now after two sessions we are all getting to know each other, this will be beneficial for the start of next year.

Dates to remember,  final Student Support Group meeting during the week of December 5-9.  State-Wide Transition Day on December 13 and our end of year awards Assembly on December 16.

Child safety and wellbeing at Naranga School: information for families and the school community

The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.

Naranga School has reviewed and updated our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. These are available to view on our website.  You can find them at this link.

We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.

If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please contact the Principal or Child Safety Officer on 9788 2222.

Recent school policy updates

Naranga School is scheduled for a School Review in term 1 of 2023.  As part of this process the school has undergone a whole-scale review of its policies.  It is important that the school community is aware of our school policies and has the opportunity to provide feedback.  In case you didn't know, all school policies are available to the public on our website, you can find them at this link.

If you have any questions or feedback regarding these policies or other policies on the website, you can ring or email the school and let me know.

Concert USB Update:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are currently experiencing delays in finishing the 2022 Naranga "Friendship" concert USB.  We understand this is very frustrating for those wanting to purchase, but we are working on a remedy as we speak.

We are aiming to have an order form out to you during the next week.  Many apologies!

The Concert Team.
