Within Architectural Design, students crafted their environmental design skills by developing architectural plans for a cafe and a public meditation space, both to be situated within the Darebin Council. They considered the role of form vs. function and followed the design process in order to reach their final outcomes, that are then presented in both 2D and 3D formats.
However, this year looked a little different - excursions were cancelled, primary research had to be collected from their immediate surroundings and students found themselves learning technical drawings in isolation. Despite this, the 2020 cohort produced some impressive architectural designs – shared physical spaces imagined during a time when their reality was inaccessible due to COVID.
