Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy and Agreements
During the school year there are many occasions and events where staff may photograph, film or record students participating in school activities and events. We do this for many reasons including to celebrate student participation and achievement, showcase learning, document experiences including camps and sports activities.
These images may be used within the school community as below:
Parents/carers and students have the right to withhold permission for the use of photographs, videos and recordings. This information is collected on enrolment and then annually via Compass as part of the Agreements and Questions sent out to parents. If you wish to withhold permission for the use of photographs, videos and recordings you must complete the questions via Compass or advise the College via email.
Members of our community should also be aware that Sandringham College has a closed circuit television (CCTV) system at our school which has been approved by the Security Services Division of the Department of Education. Our school has an obligation to provide a safe and secure environment and the CCTV system assists our school to fulfil this obligation and to prevent and manage other inappropriate behaviours on school grounds. CCTV also aids in protecting our school assets against vandalism and theft. The College CCTV policy and privacy notice are attached below and provide further information about the CCTV system, the number of cameras and guidelines around accessing the footage.
