Year 11 Media report

In year 11 media, students learned how to go through the media production process to create short films. They learned how to use media equipment and understand how different media elements can create meaning and symbolism. They needed to choose a theme or a feeling and create a film without dialogue that presented their chosen theme through visual media codes. Some of the themes that were explored were loneliness, creativity, conflict, and addiction. Can you guess which screenshot from each of these short films connects to the themes above?

Food Studies report

During Semester One, Year 8 students focused on the significance of nutrition, where they developed a sound comprehension of macronutrients and micronutrients. As part of the learning process, students were tasked with creating nutritionally balanced pizzas and omelettes, thoughtfully incorporating ingredients from all five food groups aligning with the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating.

Year 9 students started the year learning about the crucial theme of sustainability in relation to food. They examined the detrimental impacts of food wastage while seeking out strategies to reduce their own carbon footprint. Students designed and produced a pasta dish utilising common household ingredients. During Term Two, students shifted their focus to the correlation between dietary habits and overall health through the understanding of dietary related diseases.
