DISTINCTIONS
Happy Term 4
Dear Families, Students and School Community of CSC,
No less than 1050 DISTINCTIONS were rolled out this term and whilst Term 3 of 2022 was outstanding, Term 4 was just TERRIFIC!
November nights~
soon the Craigieburn fields now sweep
a thousand harvests
More excitedly, I am pleased to announce that due to the staff and teacher’s efforts from years 7 to 12, we have had a higher number of Distinctions each year level in comparison to Term 3!
I would like to acknowledge that despite difficulties this term, the staff have been on the lookout to encourage and promote positivity and meritorious students, resulting in the reward of Distinction Nominations. This term has seen a Treasure Trove, a Distinction Bonanza where all staff have promoted as many Distinctions as they wished to recognise the efforts of students.
Thus, with great pride and honour I would like to mention the breakdown of Distinctions, with the Year 10s this term alone in the lead with 245 DISTINCTION NOMINATIONS, followed by our Year 8 cohort with 230 Distinction Nominations. Not too far away are our Year 9s with an honorable and respectable 3rd place of 192 Distinctions earned!
Year 7: 145 Distinctions
Year 8: 230 Distinctions (Special Mention to 8B for earning the highest by Form overall at 66 Distinctions)
Year 9: 192 Distinctions
Year 10: 245 Distinctions
Year 11: 157 Distinctions
Year 12: 81 Distinctions
But naturally as accolades would go, I am most pleased to announce and to commemorate the students of each year level who have achieved top honours of 6 Distinctions or more:
Year 8: Moab Sao of 8B and Rand Alrabian of 8C
Year 10: Jordan Stojkovski of 10A, Elissa Shabo of 10D and Laxita Sharma of 10I
BUT in particular, of outstanding special mention for this term is we have the following students who scored 7 DISTINCTION NOMITATIONS this term alone!
Year 8: Fadi Ghareeb and Imogen Peters of 8B
Year 9: Laurence Joseph and Abdi Mohammed of 9F
Year 10: Nadhan Poovanchery of 10B and Christina D’Costa of 10D
Honorable Mentions of 5 Distinctions were achieved by the following students:
Michael Hoang of 7C
Alicia Hall, Mahir Yusuf, Lorans Bahina and Matilda Nield of 8B
Gorgina Slaiwa and Norell Elia of 8C
Habib Habib of 9A and Brendan Toma of 9B and Andrew Cassandro of 9I
Tillie Seddon and Tayla Ioane of 10C and Mahi Shah of 10I
In summary, congratulations and massive commendations to staff and students for their achievements in the last term of 2022. Our enormous record of over 1000 Distinctions is a significant increase from the 692 Distinctions of Term 2! We the CSC community hope to see this momentum continue into 2023!
Have a safe break!
