COVID-19 Re-entry Plan

Following the State Government and the Department of Education and Training (DET)’s announcements regarding the staged re-engagement with onsite learning, our staff have prepared our school’s COVID-19 Re-entry Plan:  _https://www.croydonhps.vic.edu.au/uploaded_files/media/covid19_reentry_plan_3.pdf

I encourage all staff and families to read the plan. The ‘Requirements’ section of the plan provides insights into DET’s advice and our schools practical application of the advice. The ‘Implementation’ section provides a fine detail account of our school’s staged approach.

One feature of the plan is how we plan to safely manage the movement of students into and out of the school with minimal adult support. Last week I shared the concepts and essential element of the plan as listed below. These are articulated in fine detail in the plan:

  • ‘Easy In’ – students who can enter the school without adult support are requested to do so between 8:30am - 8:55am. This includes those who are dropped off at the ‘kiss n go’ school driveway and those that walk to school with friends or siblings.
  • ‘Easy out’ – students who can exit the school without adult support will be dismissed at 3:30pm. These students will then follow their family’s exit arrangements. This may include heading to a painted portion of the Campaspe Drive boundary fence.
  • ‘Staggered In’ – Students who require adult support to enter the school are to approach Gates 2, 3, 4, or 6.
    • Specifically, classroom teachers will be waiting at:
      • Gate 2 - PCF, JTA, JJO
      • Gate 3 - PEC, PKS
      • Gate 4 - PRT, JKF, JPB, JAW
      • Gate 6 - PCB, PJT, JLC, JKB, JTC, JCF
      • Adults dropping children at their desired or nominated gate should do so at the following times:
        • 8:45 - OSHC students (via Senior School Building)
        • 8:50 - Surnames A - H
        • 9:00 - Surnames I - P
        • 9:10 - Surnames Q - Z
  • ‘Staggered Out’ – Students who require adult support to exit the school will approach:
    • Gate 2 - PCF, JTA, JJO
    • Gate 3 - PEC, PKS
    • Gate 4 - PRT, JKF, JPB, JAW
    • Gate 6 - PCB, PJT, JLC, JKB, JTC, JCF
      • at the following times:
        • 3:10 - Surnames A - H
        • 3:20 - Surnames I - P
        • 3:30 - Surnames Q - Z Non-essential adults will not be allowed beyond the internal gates or school foyer without Principal permission or under the supervision of the Administration team. Some considerations for our parents/carers:
          • If you don’t need to support your child into the school, resist the urge.
          • If you can stay in your car, do so.
          • If you need to drop your child of at the gate, as best as you both can, kiss and go.
          • If you must enter the boundary fence to head to a nominated gate, do so at the nominated time and not before.
