It has been a busy fortnight in the middle years. The Olympics day was a huge success with students taking part in a variety of activities and fun on the day. Some of the activities were Spinning Circus, Giant Bullseye, Bounce Beans and Flying Fruit. These days are very important as they build school pride and provide students with an opportunity to see their friends from other classrooms in the middle years. Our students are now looking forward to the Jacanarama Fun Run/Walk which will be taking place later this term.

Students have been busy getting the garden ready for the Autumn planting. Students enjoy going to see what is growing in the garden, picking vegetables to use in the kitchen and watering the plants. Some students are even able to find bugs and caterpillars in amongst the leaves.

Students have been having lots of fun out in the playground. Specialists have been going out to play sports and do music sessions with the middle years in the playground. Students have been using the play equipment and sporting equipment to play with their friends.

Next week we are celebrating Kind Culture day on Friday, March 18th which will be lots of fun for Middle Years!

Room 11

Room 11 have had a great start to the year. We know our daily routines and have been working on showing our values of Empathy, Respect, and Inclusion. We are becoming self-aware students by building our emotional intelligence and fostering a growth mindset. This has allowed us to become independent students who are ready to learn.

Room 11 are building a love of reading and writing. We have been reading books by Oliver Jeffers, and books with rhyming words and have been giving writing a go! We have been mathematicians by practising counting and place value using games and materials.

This week we welcomed Michael to our Room 11 community. Ashlie will be working with Room 11 Monday and Tuesday and Michael will be in Room 11 Wednesday-Friday. Shraddha and Mel are in Room 11 five days a week.

Learning is so fun in Room 11!

SPARE CLOTHES

A reminder to all Middle Years families to please ensure that there is a spare pair of clothes in your child’s bag at all times. Also, if families have any spare school pants or shorts (any colour) in sizes 10-16 to donate it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
