Seeing Eye Dog Puppies in Schools

Across Victoria, Seeing Eye Dogs currently have over 10 volunteer Puppy Carers who work as Principals and Teachers and bring their Seeing Eye Dog Puppies into their Schools. The puppy caring program requires volunteers to care for a puppy in their home from the age of 8 weeks, until they are approximately 12-15 months of age, before entering the training program. Having a puppy in schools can reduce stress, improve teacher and student health and wellbeing, as well as being a great education tool for the school community. This presentation will be a fantastic opportunity to hear from Seeing Eye Dogs staff and carers about puppy caring and there will be plenty of puppies to meet!

Listen to Kate, one of our incredible puppy carers share her experiences about how enjoyable it is to care for a puppy and the positive impact it has had on the children who attend Glen Waverley Primary School. https://youtu.be/6YmcijFkBBM
