NESA - New Syllabus Professional Learning
NESA English and Mathematics 3–6 Professional Learning
The English and Mathematics 3–6 Professional Learning courses are now available to help familiarise teachers with the syllabuses and their intent.
English 7–10 Professional Learning
The English 7–10 Professional Learning course is now available to support teachers as they prepare to implement the syllabus in 2024.
Each course will provide 2.5 hours of NESA accredited PD.
Have your say: K–10 draft syllabuses
The 'Have your say' period on K–10 draft syllabuses, the release of new Health and Movement Science 11–12 syllabuses and the Curriculum Reform Timeline have been announced.
Teachers and other stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on draft syllabuses through the NESA consultations webpage. The surveys close on 11 September.
All feedback from the 'Have your say' period will be used to inform the development of the final syllabuses.
At the above link, you will find a copy of each of the draft syllabuses and the survey to provide feedback. The key features of each syllabus are provided in the relevant survey.
Curriculum Reform Timeline
The new Curriculum Reform Timeline has now been published. The revised timeline, announced by the NSW Government earlier this year, gives teachers clarity and full transparency about syllabus consultation and release.
The timeline is available on the NESA website here.
The timeline prioritises core subjects and staggers the delivery of draft and new syllabuses in a more manageable way for teachers. Importantly, teachers and schools will now have two years to get to know K to 10 syllabuses before implementing them.
If you have any further questions on curriculum reform, please contact Joanne Hack at joanne.hack@csnsw.catholic.edu.au
