From the Support Unit
In our element
In Week 9, students of the Support Unit were rewarded with a fun-filled day at the Stocklands Shopping Centre, Wetherill Park where they watched the Disney movie, "Elemental". This particular excursion was a reward for students who has continuously exemplified our school's FOCUS values in their everyday learning environment within the classroom and the playground by being Respectful, Responsible and Successful. What a delightful way to end Term 2!
So Scien-terrific
Our Year 7 & 8 Support Unit students had the privilege of experiencing their first practical lesson in the science laboratory this term. Students were introduced to laboratory safety, basic materials used, and the magic of a Bunsen burner. Mrs. Sharma safely performed a teacher-led experiment called the flame test, where students were able to observe the colour changes in the flame. Students were exhilarated to participate in such an enjoyable lesson. More exciting experiments to come for our Support Unit students!
Belgenny Farm
Students from the Support Unit at Cecil Hills High School recently had a memorable educational trip to Belgenny Farm. The visit provided a hands-on learning experience as they explored the historic farm, learned about agricultural practices, and interacted with farm animals. It was an enriching outing that fostered curiosity and a deeper appreciation for farming and the Cowpasture's rich heritage.
Entertaining the Deputy Premier
The talented students from the Support Unit at Cecil Hills High School showcased their musical abilities by performing "The Cloudy Day" by Tones and I for the Minister of Education & Early Learning and Deputy Premier of NSW, The Honourable Prue Car MP. The captivating performance left the audience in awe, highlighting the students' dedication, talent, and the power of music in fostering inclusion and creativity. Thank you to Mr Le for leading the our students.
