The Cecil Voice - Episode 5 - The Honourable Prue Car MP

A historic moment

We present to you the fifth episode of The Cecil Voice, featuring the Deputy Premier of NSW and Minister for Education & Early Learning, the Honourable Prue Car MP, alongside Kuber Thakur, Jazmyn Rizzuti, Sophie Luong and Jack Dempsey:

In achieving this milestone, we  would like to extend our utmost appreciation to Ms Car for actively supporting student voice at Cecil Hills High School by participating in The Cecil Voice podcast. This significant involvement from a public figure of Ms Car's stature demonstrates the NSW Department of Education's commitment to empowering students and valuing our voice.

We would also like to acknowledge the commendable efforts of the Student Representative Council (SRC), the Support Unit, and the VET Hospitality team for their leadership and contributions in ensuring the success of this initiative. Their dedication and enthusiasm have been instrumental in creating a platform where student voices can be heard.

Furthermore, we express our heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers, particularly Mr Floresca, Mrs Ishak, Mr Chen, Mr Dovnik, and our senior executive, Mr Lane, Ms Sahid, Ms Carter, Mrs Cremin, Mr Howard, and Mr Floriano, who wholeheartedly supported us throughout this initiative. Their consistent guidance, feedback, and encouragement continue to play vital role in enabling us to successfully deliver The Cecil Voice.

Lastly, we extend our thanks to Ms Siokos and Mr Sutton for their valuable presence at this special event. Their attendance added lustre to the event and demonstrated their genuine interest promoting student voice and agency.

The event itself was truly memorable, as it was led by students, for students. It provided us with platform for our voices be heard and questions answered in a meaningful way. Together, we have further strengthened the culture of student empowerment and engagement at Cecil Hills High School.

We are grateful for the unwavering support of all those involved and for their commitment to fostering an inclusive and participatory learning environment. Their collective efforts have truly made a positive impact on our students' educational journey.

We look forward to keep growing The Cecil Voice over the next semester.

If there are any particular individuals you would like to interview, or topic you would like us to explore, please do not hesitate to let us know or alternatively, let Mr Floresca or Mrs Ishak know.
