Primary Sport
BASKETBALL
- Please refer to the College APP for the most up to date draws and training schedule.
- Boys playing basketball in Years 5&6 will be provided with a College basketball singlet for the season.
- Boys may play in their Canterbury shorts or wear the College sports shorts and must wear either 'ASH' socks or white socks.
- A bus will be provided to and from basketball venues for Years 5&6 AIC basketballers each week. Boys are requested to use the bus sign-on sheet located outside the Primary Sport office if they wish to catch the bus.
- Boys travelling on the bus MUST travel in their Sports Uniform.
- The bus will depart from the Bus stop @ 3:00pm and return @ 5:45pm (approx.), return details will be posted on the College APP. If your son catches the bus and you collect him, it is very important to ensure you inform a staff member.
TENNIS
- Please refer to the College APP for the most up to date draws.
Year 5 Training – Monday 7:00 – 8:15am
Year 6 Training – Tuesday 7:00 – 8:15am
- Boys playing tennis will need to purchase the following from the uniform shop;
MCA Tennis shirt, sports shorts and an MCA Tennis cap.
TRIAL V SPC - AROUND THE GROUNDS
Year 6
The 6As picked up their first win of the season in a close tie against St Patrick’s. Fletcher Wessling went undefeated for the 6As earning player of the day for the team. Jackson Skinner matched Fletcher’s effort taking all 3 of his matches to start his season for the 6Bs but it wasn’t enough to get the team over the line.
Year 5
Matt Terwin and Oscar White managed to end the day at 3-0 leading their 5A team to victory. Matt, playing at the #1 spot, played really well to come back from being down 5-1 to win 7-5. 6 straight games! The MCA 5B team went undefeated winning all 8 sets. Sam Mapledoram, Felix Nolan, Owen Aldridge and Daniel Ortiz all represented the school with class.
CROSS COUNTRY
- Full squad training has resumed meet at the John Eales Grandstand, 6:45am;
Training A – Monday/Tuesday
Training B – Wednesday/Thursday - Boys are to encouraged to get to 1 “A” and 1 “B” session per week.
- Qualification time trials will begin in the next 2 weeks, these will have a major impact on selection for AIC Championships.
- AIC Championships, Wednesday, August 12th
RUGBY UNION / FOOTBALL
- Rugby union and football trials begin next week.
Boots, mouthguard / shin pads are compulsory for all trials.
Boys may wear any jersey.
Uniform
Rugby: Boots, mouthguard, MCA rugby jersey, CCC shorts, MCA rugby socks
Football: Boots, shin pads, MCA football jersey, football shorts, MCA football socks
TRACK AND FIELD
Age Championships
- Track and Field Age Championships will take place in Week 3, Wednesday 29 July.

- Boys will compete in their age division; Under 10, Under 11 and Under 12.
- Nominations for these events will take place next week.
- Depending on the number of nominations, qualification events may need to be held next week.

- Year 6 – Break 1, Thursday, 23 July
- AIC Championships, Friday & Saturday, October 9 & 10
Boys should be available to train during Term 3 holidays.
