JUNIOR SCHOOL
Dear Junior School Parents/Carers and Students
It has been a short but busy term in the Junior School with students currently in the midst of assessments and the final weeks of their Semester 1 classes. It has been great to see students applying themselves within the classroom to finish the term on a positive note and to see their continued involvement in a wide range of extracurricular activities including; The Addams Family rehearsals, Interact and SLC, Semper Squad, Interschool Sport and Music.
Year 7 and 8 students will complete the Semester 1 Maths examination in allocated classrooms (see Compass) on Wednesday 14 June as an opportunity to assess their learning across the first two terms. Reports will be published to families on Thursday 22 June via Compass and provide a great springboard for discussion, reflection and goal setting for the semester ahead.

JUNIOR SCHOOL UPCOMING EVENTS
Year 8 Respect Program
This year we are proud to be launching the inaugural Year 8 Respect Program, a two-part series of workshops and experiences for our Year 8 students to support their development as individuals and members of the community, within and beyond school. This program has been designed to meet the needs of our young people and is an important extracurricular event to broaden and enhance students' experience at school and sense of wellbeing. The program includes:
- A Workshop Day, to be held on Friday 14 July, facilitated by highly regarded organisations Flourish Girl and The Man Cave.
- A Challenge Program, to be held across two days, with half the cohort attending on Monday 31 July and the other half attending on Monday 7 August, at The Summit in Trafalgar East.
Further information about each of these days and the opportunity to provide consent and payment will be distributed via Compass in the coming days. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback about the impact of these programs at similar schools and confident our Year 8 students will benefit immensely from their engagement with both days.
JUNIOR SCHOOL CLASS CAPTAINS
Congratulations to our Year 7 Class Captains who have now been appointed. Our Year 8 Class Captains are currently being finalised and will be announced shortly. These groups of leaders will meet regularly throughout the year to represent the views and voices of their classes. Congratulations to all those who put their hands up for a role!
