COVID Update

Unfortunately, during the first week of the school holidays, I tested positive to COVID and I have to admit it wasn't a pleasant experience. Thankfully, I wasn't exposed to any members of our school community during this time. This is definitely a reminder that we need to stay vigilant to ensure that the number of positive COVID cases doesn't rise in our community in the near future.

As mentioned in the update from the Catholic Schools Office this week, they are in the process of ordering more rapid antigen tests from Catholic Schools NSW. Hopefully soon, we will be notified of whether they are nasal or mouth swab tests, how many are available and when they will arrive at school which I have been informed will be in the next three weeks.  I do hope they are the tests that require a mouth swab.

We still have around twenty packs of nasal rapid antigen tests here at school. If you would like one of these packs, please contact the school.

Please remember, these tests are to be used only if your child is displaying any symptoms associated with COVID.

Even from last Friday the government has relaxed the restrictions associated with household contacts, we still must be vigilant to ensure that we continue to minimise the spread of COVID. Any student or staff member who is unwell and/or displays symptoms of COVID-19 must be asked to go home and stay there until they can complete a RAT or PCR test. If a student or staff member displays even mild COVID-19 symptoms, they must take a RAT or get a PCR test and isolate until they receive a negative test result. Students must not come to school until they are symptom free, even if they get a negative RAT result. If unfortunately, your child has contacted the virus, please contact the school immediately.
