Intermediate Girls' AFL

Our fabulous Kingston Division Champions competed in the Southern Metropolitan Championship at Lloyd Park in Langwarren on Thursday July 25. We beat the highly fancied Mentone Girls by 30 points in our first pool game and in our second pool game we beat Berwick by 39 points. This meant we won the right to play off against Mornington Secondary College in the Grand Final. After a tight and hard fought first half the Mornington girls pulled away to beat us by 27 points, but there was no shame in that as they annihilated all other teams and we were the only team to score against them. The most valuable players were Keely Coyne, Lily Mao and Elle Devereaux and the goal of the day was a banana from the boundary line kicked by Jatalia Jarman. Thanks to Toby Golding and Sam Batson for goal and boundary umpiring.
