From the Principal

Week 5 - Term 2

It is wonderful to have all the children back at school.  Thank you to our families for having the children organised for the return to school in such uncertain times.  The staff are very vigilant  in keeping the hygiene & safety procedures in place. We are asking parents & visitors not to enter the playground or classrooms but to come to the front office, we thank you for your support in reducing contact with children & staff.

All Armidale Diocesan Catholic Schools are to use the following attendance code by 1st June 2020.  The children's attendance will be recorded as the following

*   present at school;

*   sick because they are currently unwell;

*   at home because they have a medical certificate which states that they are unable to return to school due to an ongoing medical condition.

Remote Learning code will no longer be available for use.

Reporting Semester 1 -Student Progress Reports

At the end of this term teachers will complete a Semester 1 Progress Report. Due to the Remote Learning during Term 1 & Term 2, we will be providing families with a modified Student Progress Report for Semester 1.  The report will give information on the progress in three KLA's Religion, English, Mathematics & Social Skills areas. Also the Progress Report will have goals for future learning. We will not be giving A-E grades on this semester progress report.

National Sorry Day & National Reconciliation Week

May 26th was National Sorry Day which is an important time to remember the injustices done to the Stolen Generations and the sadness and damage the events from the past have had on Australia’s First Peoples. Stolen Generations refers to Indigenous Australians who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. National Sorry Day also heralds the beginning of National Reconciliation Week - In this together.

Reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians.
