The beginning of your child's school life starts now

Starting School

In 2022 our Prep students will begin school on Tuesday 1st February
There will be no school for Prep students on Wednesday for the first 5 weeks of Term - 2 (Feb, 9 Feb, 16 Feb, 23 Feb and 2 March). We will begin full time the week beginning 6 March.
On Wednesdays the Prep teachers will conduct individual assessments and interviews with each child in their grade, and use this information to plan for learning experiences appropriate to individual needs. A timetable will be posted on Compass.
Please provide your child with a morning snack, lunch, and drink bottle filled with water and school hat each day.
Hats are compulsory in Terms 1 and 4 and can be purchased from the uniform shop.

The beginning of the day

On the first day children and their families are invited into the classroom from 8:55am. The teacher will show the children their bag lockers in which they can place their belongings.
Once in the classroom, your child will be able to choose an activity. It is at this point that we ask you to say goodbye to your child and leave the classroom.
‘Tea and tissues’ will be available for you to celebrate this significant occasion as soon as you leave the classroom in the staffroom (depenfing on restrictions)
In week one and two, please bring your child into the classroom each morning to ensure they feel safe and happy.
From week three onwards, please bring your child to the outside door of their classroom. When the bell rings at 8:55am the teacher will bring the students inside to start their school day.

The end of the day

At the end of the day teachers will dismiss children as they see their parents at the door/gate. Please wait for your child outside of the junior building.
