Rural Aid Grant - The Gift of Music

On Monday our school received the amazing Gift of Music from Robyn & Wayne Thomson.  The school received 3 Flutes,  3 Clarinets,  2 Trumpets,  2 Alto Saxophones,  5 Recorders & 1 Carton of assorted Lego. Total value $12,512.

The  instruments will be used to form a school Woodwind Band in 2020. Music teachers from NECOM will work with a group of students each week  to learn to play the instruments and form our school band. As Bateson said to Mr & Mrs Thomson - 'when you come back this time next year you will be very proud of our achievements with the band.'

The school is thrilled with the generous gifts, we are  very appreciative and humbled by the generosity shown towards our small school and the opportunities our students will receive from the gifts.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them."

From "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare and the First World War was formally declared over.

Now, every year at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, all Australians are called to observe one minute's silence to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts.

Toys

Students are allowed to bring toys and balls to school to play with at break times, however, we ask that they are labelled with their name and the items are their responsibility throughout the day. Students are not allowed to swap or exchange toys with other children at school.

School Uniform

It is very important that the children wear their uniform with pride.

If your child is not able to wear the correct uniform please send a note to school explaining the reason.

If a child is repeatedly out of uniform without an explanation parents will be contacted.
