NPS - CORONAVIRUS NEWSLETTER # 4

Coronavirus Update as of Monday 23rd March
Yesterday, Sunday 22/03/2020 the Victorian Government, with the support of the Chief Health Officer, announced the bringing forward of school holidays in Victoria, commencing from Tuesday 24 March.
This is obviously an unprecedented step in response to unprecedented circumstances. I greatly appreciate your support as we navigate our way through these challenging times.
*Tuesday 24 to Friday 27 March - Principals and school leadership teams will be in attendance on site at school this week.
*Care and supervision program - During this week, we as school have a responsibility to provide care and supervision programs for primary school students of essential services workers, where those families choose to send their children to school.
There is no obligation for students who are children of essential workers or students who are vulnerable to attend school this week. However, we do have an obligation to ensure we provide a care and supervision program for these students if it is required.
*Prep to Grade 6 - Principals of schools with students in Prep to Grade 6 have been asked to provide teachers and Support Staff (ESS), who be willing to work this week. Based on this information we ask parents to inform the school if they will be accessing this school day service. Reminder the teachers will not be providing their normal school program.
*Staff - Staff not participating in the care and supervision program as above, will be working from home under instruction to prepare for the transition to flexible and remote learning, including preparing for the continuation of support for students’ wellbeing.
*OOSHC - Will not be operating from tomorrow onwards. We ask parents to make alternative arrangements for the remainder of this week and for Tuesday 14/04/2020.
*ALTERNATE LEARNING PROGRAM - Teachers this week will be developing an alternative off site home teaching program which we may need to be implemented in term two, if schools continue to be closed next term. We will provide parents with a more comprehensive detailed plan of our e-learning programme closer to the commencement of term two, as is the requirement of DET.
Lost Property - Watch
Daisy one of our students has lost her watch at school. She is very distressed that the watch went missing from her locker last week.
Description - DX2 Smart Watch, Pink Band & Watch body with a black watch face.
She would really appreciate a speedy return. If the watch has been found it can be handed into the office.
THANK YOU......
On behalf to the teachers and Support Staff thank you for your support and understanding. And thank you those individuals who have provided positive feedback around communication through this stressful time.
Keep safe and look after each other.
