Principal's Report

Term 3, Week 5

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe we are now almost at the halfway mark of Term 3! There is plenty of excitement building as we head towards the Dance Extravaganza in Week 10, with the fantastic class dances starting to come together. It should be another brilliant show and, as always, the students are leading the way with their enthusiasm!

Eucharist Celebrations

Last Tuesday we celebrated the Feast Day of St Mary MacKillop in the church. This was an important celebration as we recognised the feast day of Australia's only saint. This Tuesday, we will also host a Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, commencing at 12.00pm in the church. All parents and friends are welcome to join us for this celebration.

2024 Planning

After completing our 2023 census a couple of weeks ago, and with the conclusion of the 2024 Kindergarten enrolments, we are already putting consideration into our class structures for next year. To help us with this process, we ask that if you know your family will not be attending St Francis Xavier's in 2024 to please contact the school office so that we can produce accurate class projections. It is too early to be able to tell just how many classes we will have in 2024, or the structure of those classes, however we will continue to ensure class sizes are kept to a minimum to maintain our high adult to student ratio in learning spaces.

P&F Meeting

All parents and friends are warmly invited to join the P&F at their Term 3 meeting tonight at 6.00pm in the staffroom. The P&F is a vital committee in our school community and we would love for any new members to come along and share their thoughts on how we can provide more social gatherings for our school community.

Book Week

Next week is Book Week! As is our tradition, the annual Book Week Character Parade will be held under the COLA on Thursday 24 August at 10.00am. All parents and family members are invited to join us for what is always a fun morning. Any pre-schoolers are also very welcome to join in the dress ups and parade with us!

Father's Day Breakfast

Looking forward, the annual Father's Day Breakfast is being held on Friday 1 September at 8.00am. Bacon and Egg Rolls are once again on the menu for all dads, stepdads, grandads, uncles and special men in our lives. Please return your rsvp slip to the front office for catering purposes.

Have a great week!

Nick
