Year 8 Visual Art

Students opened their creative minds throughout the second year of the pandemic, producing incredibly imaginative and vibrant artworks stemming from a number of art movements. They created wonderous creative creature hybrid human masks influenced by the work of Hieronymus Bosch’s masterpiece, the Garden of Earthly Delights. Their final creations were displayed resplendently down the corridors of C Block for all to see.
In semester two this was a little more difficult to achieve but considering their situation numerous imaginative characters were created. Students were able to use the masks from different Oceanic cultures and the Australian artist Howard Arkley to develop lino prints using balance, pattern and shape. Wonderful results ensued and we are immensely proud of our creative cohort for 2021.
