JACK’s PADDOCK

Greetings families of MPW,

Earlier this year, with the support of the Environment sub-committee and with student input as to what students wanted, MPW applied for a grant to MAKE JACK’s PADDOCK GREAT AGAIN! We have been informed that our application for a grant has been successful but people in our community need to vote for it – as this is how the Pick My Project funding will operate. We need your help. The projects with the most votes will receive funding. We have applied for funding to bring play equipment into Jack’s Paddock which will benefit our community on weekends when the grounds are accessed.

Voting will open at 9am, Monday 13 August 2018 and close at 5pm, Monday 17 September.

In order to vote you will need to register for a Pick My Project account. The website is www.pickmyproject.vic.gov.au

Once you’ve registered, you can select your voting area by searching for the school’s street address (150 Athol st, Moonee Ponds) or locality, or dropping a pin on the map. You’ll be shown a minimum of 30 projects in your local community from which you’ll be able to vote for your three favourites.

Please vote for Make Jack's Paddock great again! And ask everyone you know to vote as well, the more votes, the more chance we truly have to Make Jack's Paddock great again!

Thank you

3/4 Excursion Melbourne Water Treatment Plant

This week the year 3/4 classes - Rooms 11,12,17 and 24 went to the Werribee Treatment Plant. What an experience! From all accounts the children learnt a lot about how the excrement is treated and they even saw the 'chocolate milkshake'.

The Werribee Treatment Plant is a wonderful bird sanctuary with migrating birds from all over the world spending time there!

Below are some student reflections and photos from the excursion.
