Parent/Carer Tours for children commencing school in 2018
Enrolment tours are continuing for parent/carers considering enrolling their child/ren for the Foundation year 2018 intake. Sibling enrolment forms are available at the office. If you are enrolling a sibling for 2018 could you please submit the enrolment forms as early as possible to assist with forward planning.
Reporting to Parents
The student report and portfolios are going home to families on June 30th and Parent and Carer Teacher and Student Conferences will be held on July 27th (Pupil Free day). Please note that Room 21 and Room 10 will be holding conferences on the June 26 and 27.
Pyjama Day
Junior School Council (JSC)have organised for the whole school to celebrate the Winter Solstice by holding a PYJAMA DAY on Wednesday the 21st of June. Please see the article in Education News.
Bell Shakespeare
Thank you to Sue and Claudia for organising the Bell Shakespeare incursion this week. Please see the Education News section of next week's newsletter for further information.
World Refugee Day
June 20th is World Refugee Day. According to the UNHCR there are over 60 million people who have been forced from their homes and 21 million refugees across the globe, half of which are under the age of 18. Please see the links below for further information.

South West Victoria Region Principal Forum
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week I attended the South West Victoria Region Principal Forum held at the Melbourne Convention Centre. Speakers addressed some of the current issues in education.
Trivia Night
Yet a further reminder that tickets are available for the MPW trivia night to be held on Saturday June 24th.
Funds will go toward the final amount required to purchase and install of new water bubblers. The plan is for the old water troughs will be removed and new water bubblers to be installed around the school, including a water bubbler to be located near the adventure playground adjacent the Tiger Turf. The bubblers have the additional facility for children to fill their water bottles, come in varying heights and a variety of colors (The Green Team have been consulted as to the colors to be chosen).
Managing Parent Concerns and Complaints Policy
Today the new Managing Parent Concerns and Complaints Policy was launched. Each family received a copy of the policy. This policy is also available on our school website in conjunction with a link inviting feedback from members of our school community. Thank you to members of the Communication Action Team, the South Western Victoria Region and the School Council Communicatoin and Engagement Working Group for their commitment in ensuring this policy reflects best practice.
