Harmony Day
Harmony Day
On Thursday the 21st of March our school community celebrated Harmony Day.
The entire college participated in many workshops and lunchtime activities. We would like to thank all students and staff who participated and celebrated our many cultures within the school community.
All year 8 students engaged in a cultural awareness day which was based around Aboriginal culture, expressing identity through Hip/ Hop and dance and the importance of accepting differences.
Our year 7 students were able to participate in an African drumming session and reflect on what Harmony day means. Staff shared a favourite cultural dish with their colleagues and some shared a little about their culture to their classes.
Food vans for lunchtime activities were organised and cultural bracelet workshops were run by our VCAL students.
Our EAL students performed traditional dancers and encouraged all to join in and participate. EAL leaders also ran a language workshop during lunchtime which taught students and teachers different words in their language.
