Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle

Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle Incursion

On Friday 14th October, master puppeteers Chris and Rob from Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle visited Naranga and performed their amazing puppet show for our Junior students.

Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle (MPK) was founded in November 2021. They create educational and entertaining puppet shows for Kindergarten and Primary school-aged kids. Their colourful and friendly puppets delighted Naranga students with an engaging storyline, hilarious jokes, catchy songs and interactive games. They focused on values such as resilience, confidence, problem-solving, managing emotions and making good choices.

The main two puppet characters, Calvin and Bruce, led the children through the learning journey with plenty of songs, laughs, interactive games and colour. The students asked questions at the end of the performance about puppeteering and how the puppets work.

Here are some student testimonials-

Ruby – ‘I like it because it was teaching me about resilience.’

Brandon –‘ I thought it was funny.’

Xavier – ‘It was really entertaining.’

Amelie – ‘It was fun.’

Levi: "It was good, I even get to high five the puppet and tell them about my birthday."

Ethan: "The puppets make me laugh and I gave them a high five."

Shay: "It was awesome because the puppets were figuring out how to solve the problem and we learnt about resilience."
