Eagle’s Nest Theatre Visits Craigieburn

I’m school vice-captain, Aliyah Santiano, and I was lucky enough to have participated in the Extinction Workshop made possible by the Craigieburn English department.

Last month, the entire Year 12 English and EAL cohort were given an opportunity to witness a live performance of ‘Extinction’, a play we were currently studying in our classes and will be featured in our exam.

The play was conducted incredibly well, with four highly accomplished actors and actresses from the Eagle’s Nest Theatre Company, giving us an unparalleled insight into the story of ‘Extinction’ along with an open forum discussion.

Seeing the play live has certainly allowed us to see the characters in a wholly different experience, especially by seeing for ourselves the various theatrical elements of ‘Extinction’, including the staging and use of props. This experience will really help us with our analysis of the play, allowing a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the play.

Thank you very much to the Eagle’s Nest Theatre Company for giving us this eye-opening experience, their time and generosity.
