ANZAC Commemoration

Felix and Joanne - making Anzac biscuits as part of our Anzac commemoration last Saturday.

Ari - I thought I would send you some photos to show you how our family commemorated ANZAC Day.

As a craft activity, we made some poppies and laid them on our front nature strip, with a sign that said Lest We Forget. At 6.00 am when we stood on our driveway, we lit candles.

Another tradition is that we always make ANZAC cookies, so we did that during home FAT time on Friday. They were delicious!

Creative Arts

This term Creative Arts is focusing on an art project - "It's natural" gathering natural materials such as sticks, leaves and stones found in parks and our backyards.

We are being inspired by the artworks of Andy Goldsworthy.  He is  a British sculptor, photographer and land artist.

Here are some of his extraordinary artworks:

All of students artworks created throughout the term should be photographed, drawn and kept together in a Visual Arts diary, providing a record of all your ideas, drafts and images.

Today we are highlighting the fantastic work of Ava in Room 5 who created some great images of her cute dog Dasha, a crab, a butterfly and a horse. I am sure you will agree Ava's artworks express brilliantly the character of the different animals, especially Dasha.

Claudia and I looking forward to seeing all your work. Please remember we have a different activity each week. Keep it all together to share when we return.

Have fun and be creative,

Sue & Claudia
