Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships

What is covered in the topic “Problem Solving”?

Problem-solving skills are an important part of the coping repertoire. The classroom program provides a number of learning activities to develop students’ problem-solving skills.

The activities in the program assist students to develop their critical and creative

thinking skills, and to apply them to scenarios exploring personal, social and ethical dilemmas.  This includes recognising there are many ways to solve conflict, describing similarities and differences in points of view, identifying co-operative behaviours in group activities and evaluating the consequences of various actions.

Support

If at any time, families have concerns or issues that they would like to raise regarding the needs of their child/ren in relation to learning or social/emotional matters, we do encourage parents to address your questions or concerns with the classroom teacher as the first point of contact. Teachers are available between 8.50-9.00am or 3.30-3.40pm for a quick in person check in or can be contacted through email to organise a time for a discussion. Where questions or concerns are more complex or needing further attention, Jarrod (Principal) or Jenny (Acting Assistant Principal) can also be contacted to organise a meeting time. The relationship between school and home is an important partnership for student learning to succeed.
