Coming Up at FWPS

Wear it Purple Day - Friday, 29th August

The Department of Education has a strong commitment to ensuring all Victorian government schools are respectful, safe and inclusive places of learning and work for all students, staff and members of our school communities. As part of this commitment, the department is supporting all schools to join many other schools and workplaces across the country to recognise and celebrate Wear it Purple Day on Friday, 29th August 2025.

We support all lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer, questioning and asexual (LGBTIQA+) young people in our schools and the community, in accordance with obligations in the Child Safe Standards to uphold diversity and equity for everyone regardless of their background, characteristics or beliefs.

At FWPS we always strive to support all members of our community to feel included and welcome and this year we will continue to acknowledge Wear It Purple at our school.

On Friday, 29th August, we welcome anyone who wants to wear purple or rainbow colours on the day to do so, to show their support.

Our Captains will also host a lunchtime dance party for all students to join, have a dance and celebrate inclusion for all. For more information on the day, refer to the Wear it Purple website.

Through our library program, we have purchased some new books that will be on display and available for students to browse and borrow. As well as supporting understanding with reading age appropriate books about being an ally and celebrating pride.
